Kindiki Highlights Government’s Job Creation Efforts

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has announced significant progress in the government’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) initiative, which is aimed at boosting employment opportunities for Kenyans.

Speaking at his official residence in Karen, Kindiki emphasized that the RPL program is a key strategy in tackling unemployment.

“We are implementing the Recognition of Prior Learning certification. So far, 2,900 individuals have been certified through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, with an additional 4,000 certified by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA),” he stated.

The RPL policy acknowledges and certifies skills and expertise acquired outside traditional education systems. It is designed to empower self-taught professionals and refugees by improving their access to quality employment opportunities.
